My daughter Lulu first started training with Phiv about six years ago when she was 14 years old after receiving feedback from a local rep side that she needed to work on her kicking. We enquired about a kicking coach and were put in contact with Phiv. Lulu loved working with Phiv right from the get go, and continued to do so consistently for the next five years right up until she was drafted by Carlton at pick no.5, and she continues to stay in touch with him as a friend and a mentor. To my mind the training Phiv offers far surpasses what most community and rep programs can offer, his generous, caring, knowledgeable and heartfelt delivery have been instrumental to Lulu's growth and development. I also believe that it gave her confidence to pursue her dream of becoming an AFLW player.

I have worked with Phiv Demetriou for nearly 20 years. We both have had a strong interest in football coaching and skill development and I have witnessed the evolution of Phiv's kicking program from a very early stage.1 have no hesitation in recommending Phiv to teach the fundamentals of kicking. His ability to deconstruct and rebuild a kicking action is superb. Phiv has a wonderful way of delivering his program and can modify it to suit any audience, from first time players to the higher end of the talent pathway.ln my work with female football Phiv was always one of my go to coaches because of his friendly and disarming demeanour when teaching to a new cohort of players. The results at the end of his kicking program speak for themselves, challenging players to constantly reassess, modify and improve their fundamental skill set.

Phiv has worked closely with my football teams over many years teaching specialised AFL kicking techniques. My Northern Knights AFL U18 team finished the season ranked No. 1 team in the competition for kicking effectiveness thanks to Phiv's kicking program, His attention to detail and knowledge of maximising player performance is one of the best in the business. We had players drafted after the time Phiv spent with them during the year. Phiv's individual program for all ages guarantees more competent kicking skills, but his approach, more importantly, builds confidence in footballers to believe in their ability to reach new heights.

We have used Phiv Demetriou as a development coach for our club over the past 10 years. This year we decided to seek Phiv’s help in establishing a girl-only team at West Ivanhoe and provided a 4 week skills season. We advertise Phiv’s name and had a massive response with over 28 girls from 1 school capping our program. This means next year we will be able to have our first all-girls team in the 2023 season. His ability to teach players from all ages how to kick with a correct technique has been nothing short of amazing – the way he breaks it down has resonated outstandingly at our Clubs for not just players but also our Coaches.

Phiv Demetriou was our Sports Coordinator at Viewbank College for a number of years, and coached, developed and directed our football program with outstanding success. A unique feature of Phiv’s football curriculum was the Kicking Program he developed and pioneered. During Phiv’s time at the helm, the College won 2 State Championships and a Herald Sun Cup. On an individual level he had 7 players drafted by AFL clubs, 4 of whom were first round picks. He was also successful in having an AFLW player drafted in the early days of the competition. One of Phiv’s strengths is identifying players’ skill deficiencies and rectifying them quickly, with simple, easy to understand teaching methods. Phiv’s success rate in has been incredible, and players under his tutelage have been extremely grateful and have become superior players.

Phiv Demetriou has been working with the Parade St Damians Junior Football Club for many years, more recently now in the official capacity as the clubs Football Development Manager. Phiv has spent many years assisting our club with kicking lessons for our players, changing the way our players and coaches think about their kicking action while improving our player's kicking accuracy. Phiv now continues to focus our coaches and players on their kicking, while also introducing other critical playing techniques in the areas of ball handling, tackling and game plays.  Mentoring both coaches and players is the key area where Phiv was able to play the key role in our club, giving all the skills they need to take their game to the next level.

I am a level 2 Coach and have been a long term coach and coaching coordinator for the Parkside jnr and senior football club, Phiv has been an integral part of us growing our club with various programs he has been involved in over the years since 2008. Whether it be mentoring coaches, running training programs or training individuals to elite level, his teaching methods have always been clear, up to date and relevant for todays AFL. In particular, I have been amazed at the ease of teaching players – boys and girls and our Coaches on the basic mechanics of Kicking. His breakdown by steps regarding kicking have seen a number of our players improve whilst simultaneously increasing their knowledge and retaining information. On a personal note my sons have benefited immensely being involved with Phiv and would recommend his training to anyone.

Phiv is an elite kicking and skills coach. His drills are based on game sense and situations. My 16yo daughter has been working with Phiv for the last 2 years. Under Phiv’s coaching she had progressed from a 2 handed ball drop to be an extremely efficient kick on both sides of her body. Her hands on both sides are very good and she has just completed her first NAB season and her first season of senior football. Phiv’s tactical knowledge and skill set are of the highest calibre and I would highly recommend Phiv to your organisation or as a private/ group session coach/mentor.

Phiv provided a safe and encouraging space where the kids were taught the mechanics and techniques of kicking and other football fundamentals, and then got to apply them in practical, hardworking and dynamic drills that closely resembled real game scenarios.  Phiv's instruction was clear and incisive and always delivered with warmth and humour.

Phiv has had made a huge impact on myself as a coach of U15/16 A grade boys and my players in the past two years. His knowledge is second to none. What Phiv doesn't know about football isn't worth knowing and his ability to convey his message to the boys is phenomenal. He has a genuine care for the people he works with and goes above and beyond to help players and coaches improve to reach their full potential. Our group improved immensely under Phiv’s guidance and training throughout the past 2 seasons culminating in 5 boys representing Oakleigh Chargers and 2 boys representing Eastern Ranges. This simply wouldn't have been possible without Phiv’s coaching. I could not recommend Phiv enough to work with young footballers to help them reach their goals and potential. He is simply the best in the business.
